It makes sense - our issue is in the front half and bought in two youngsters with forward craft.

We have kicking problems, can't hit up a bloke in the same coloured jumper to save ourselves.
So to improve our kicking they drop the best kick in our team, Boyd.
Seems really weird, no actually that's standard Carlton protocol.
2025... Moir of the same to come

Agree, that’s a strange move.

Are we happy with ins?? Strange Boyd did not get another run but Haynes keeps his spot

I still reckon Boyd will play...unless he went totally against the job he was given last week.

Apart from Boyd losing his spot, I'm ok with the changes.
Putting my hand up early to say these are the changes I wanted (Moir, White) and I will honour the 12th commandment of "Thou shall not criticise the MC if the changes you asked for go to Sh1t ! "

I'd be interested in moving Boyd closer to goals. His pinpoint kicking is what our forwards need and if he needs to bang one through the big sticks himself, he has a fair hoof on him and outside 50 wouldn't worry him.

Our small forwards are ineffective & inconsistent so it makes sense to trial Boyd there. As you said, he is a good kick which gives him a big advantage over the others.

I dont see what a lot of other people see in Boyds kicking. I think he is an average footballer.
2021-Pi$$ or get off the pot
2022- Real Deal or more of the same? 0.6%
2023- "Raise the Standard" - M. Voss Another year wasted Bar Set
2024-Back to the drawing boardNo excuses, its time
2025-Carlton can win the 2025 AFL Premiership

Why did they give Will White a game and overlook Moir ??

They probably watched the last VFL game :D

(I don't think the team's out yet. We know from the club White is playing....not sure about any other ins or outs.)

Perhaps they didn’t watch the VFL game Lods 🙄

Moir must have got the nod on the basis of potential and/or performance at training.

He does have the ability to impact the scoreboard from limited opportunities but I hope he can improve his defensive effort.
It's still the Gulf of Mexico, Don Old!

Carlton's line-up:

FB:  [42] Adam Saad  [23] Jacob Weitering  [4] Oliver Hollands
HB:  [33] Lewis Young  [11] Mitch McGovern  [2] Lachlan Cowan
C:  [13] Blake Acres  [9] Patrick Cripps  [18] Sam Walsh
HF:  [15] Sam Docherty  [17] Brodie Kemp  [8] Lachie Fogarty
FF:  [1] Jack Silvagni  [30] Charlie Curnow  [3] Jesse Motlop
R:  [12] Tom De Koning  [5] Adam Cerra  [29] George Hewett
Int:  [43] Ashton Moir  [36] Cooper Lord  [26] Nick Haynes  [6] Zac Williams  [38] Will White

EMG:  [25] Jaxon Binns  [37] Jordan Boyd  [44] Francis Evans

I don't expect Zac Williams to come up either. Boyd would be the favourite to replace him.

I don't understand why Collingwood dropped Cox. He isn't a great player, but he is a much better 2nd ruck than any alternative.
Nichevo. Let them make a mistake for a change.

I believe he was seen doing fitness tests earlier in the week, so maybe he is carrying an injury.

Let’s make a good start and run out the game until full time.

Great to see the young blokes get a gig. Congratulations to White. I really hope ZW is fully fit. Unlike several of his mates, he was in form.

I still think much of our woes is between the ears. We lose grip and panic. What follows in terms of decision-making, execution, grit, and running capacity is predictably compromised. Hunter turn hunted.

I've got us 0 - 4 but will be happy to eat humble pie. Even if it's a cold pie 🥧 😉

Defence is good - attack is attrocious.
Dont need both Boyd and Ollie - Id argue Boyd over Hollands

This explains it the best.
