Yes, with a bit of luck it will only be America, Mexico and Canada that have the guts ripped out of their economies. Still, there’s a fair chance that he’ll trigger the next GFC.

A small price to pay for making America great again 🤣

Trump isn't the reason the companies are leaving China, their economy is slowing down and the Chinese Government is putting money into local business rather than foreign companies.

I can see it's part of a larger news website, but just from a quick glance that 'blindspot' section seems to present the extreme left and right stories.
That's probably the last thing we need.

The main issue with coverage of US politics and poltics and social issues in general is the bias.
What's usually missing is the centrist point of view.

Very few sources seem to present that balanced view.
No doubt ownership of those sources comes into play, as does the political persuasion of the commentators.
Few just present the news without their own slant on things.

Then there is the bias of the viewer or reader, which is present in some extent in all of us.
We can look at a channel or read a paper and think that what we're reading is quite balanced and accurate.
But that's clouded by our own bias.
So someone's good balanced channel can be a 'lefty mouth piece' for some, and a 'right wing crap-pot' for others.

Not according to the CEO of the company who was explaining their strategy to minimise the impact of the tariffs.

He said that it was impossible to build their products without Chinese input so they couldn’t completely escape the tariffs.  It will be a complicated process to establish how much of the final product originates in China and apply the tariffs to that percentage.

It's exactly what you need, because it shows the absurdity present on both sides of the debate without any bias! ;)

It's not an echo chamber like FB, X or Instagram.

The wider site conducts itself like journalism use to, with ethics and accountability. The "Blindspot" section is intended to show and expose the echo chambers.

It's the wider website that should be highlighted then.
The 'kooky folk' don't need feeding.
They won't see the bias...just affirmation, in the articles they want to see.

It's actually not the wacky stuff that's the real problem.
It's the subtle twisting and omission of major outlets that's the main concern.

Your posts are proof the site works, you would never have seen those "kooky folk" stories to debate them, they were in your "blindspot"!

Ground News always presents the blindspot issues side by side, you can't see one without the other, it's aim is alerting and desensitization of the reader to internet absurdity. It breaks the echo chamber.

Outgoing US president Joe Biden has pardoned his son Hunter Biden, sparing him a possible prison sentence for federal felony gun and tax convictions and reversing his past promises not to use the extraordinary powers of the presidency for the benefit of his family.
Like most politicians they are all corrupt at some level and when you break it all down there isnt much difference between Trump and honest Joe.

I can see where a presidential pardon might be appropriate in certain circumstances, but giving any president such sweeping powers is asking for trouble.

A president is able to pardon anyone for any Federal crime except impeachment before, during or after legal proceedings - Gerald Ford pardoned Richard Nixon before he was charged!

Not a good look after he said he wouldn't pardon him.
He'll cop a bit of flack, but so what.
He's a father, and he's probably done with the 'Game of Thrones"
He has nothing to lose.....so why not use the power while he has it.

I'm sure his successor will. :D

Surprise surprise.
Reality always wins in the end.
