Aurangzeb; “…street gangs occupying the town with MK47s. I know that gun very well.  I have become an expert on guns.”

Has there ever been a self-proclaimed expert on everything who knows 5/8ths of fark all about anything?

Aurangzeb’s rhetoric just got a little scarier with his talk of a violent purge when he takes power.

He is as threatening to people on the GOP side as he is the Democrats, I said months back I think it's not going to end well for him, you can't throw so many rocks at the crowd and not expect some to be returned with interest! That is what I mean when I write he is making the world a meaner, less stable and dangerous place.

He's been watching too many movies.
'Purge' ones ::)
We know by his own confession he doesn't read much, and that he relies on talking and media, maybe for Trump he perceives TV as a documentary.

Given he is always referencing Hannibal Lecter, it's not surprising! :o

Personally, I've always thought of Trump as more of a Monty Burns fan, I know I am! ;D

What a scary beast US politics is.

Trump throws out so much with that small part fact, small part believable and turns it into a monster and the crowds lap it up.  Arguing against it doesn't get much footing.  Ignoring it and releasing policies doesn't get much footing.  Pointing out the hypocrisy also doesn't seem to do much (eg Trump on Vance - VPs aren't important and don't do much.  Trump on Harris - what an appalling VP - she hasn't done anything except stuff up immigration and voting for her would be 4 years of the same).

I have been watching a few Democrat you tubers until recently and their criticisms of Trump are often trivial and repeated so often that it becomes boring - but they have followers of 1mil+.

I have tried to watch a couple of GOP you tubers but really struggle to get past the name calling and vitriol that is spoken - happy to watch a few to get an idea if anyone can recommend one!

GOP is a very divisive party, while the Democrats tune is why can't we all get along and work together.

I don't really follow the US issues that deeply, but we know Trumps character, we don't really know Harris'.  I think Harris may be less bad, however, I wouldn't be surprised if Trump won.  Vance is a nuff nuff and Walz sounds like a good idea, but hasn't really said much to give credence to the good idea.

I think I'd vote for a Walz-Vance ticket.
They seem to agree on a lot of stuff. :D  :D  :D

Vance was the better performer and as such won the debate.

I didn’t watch the whole debate but, from what I saw, Vance was much better at not answering the question (is climate change a hoax? being a case in point). He was almost as good as our politicians in that regard.

Vance deserves extra points for managing to avoid directly contradicting his boss’s utterances.

It was probably a debate of two halves. Walz was better at the end...especially on the transition of power stuff.
It was close, but overall Vance was able to present slightly differently and more reasonable than how he is generally  perceived.
The main criteria for these debates is never content but more about performance...and Vance was the better performer.
The split screen didn't work well for Biden in the first Presidential debate. It was also a bit of an issue for Walz at times today.

I thought Vance came across as a much better media performer, and I suppose that is to be expected given his background in talk show interviews.

But ignoring the delivery much of Vance's illegal alien and immigrant content was rubbishful fantasy that reminds me of this Reddit cartoon.

I'm surprised there isn't a version of this cartoon with Trump and Elon at the top of the pile!

Even more bizarrely, but fully aligned to the USA concept of forgiveness of sins, is how they gloss over Vance making sh1t up! Yet just yesterday they were accusing Harris of staging a photograph and asserting such fakes are a character indictment. Yet Immigrants eating dogs and cats is just a required fantasy for justice to be served. OK then! :o

Interesting outcome from the VP debate; Walz’s favourability rating went from +14 to +37 while Vance’s went from -22 to -3.

Vance’s refusal to acknowledge that his boss lost the 2020 election seems to have undone his good work from earlier in the debate.

Vance's last ten minutes cost him...
They had a focus group of seven undecided voters after the debate.
Six said the debate hadn't influenced them one way or the other
The seventh said he would be voting for Harris and he said the reason was Vance's answers (or non-answers) around the 2020 election and the refusal of Trump to acknowledge the result.

In the end it probably hasn't swayed the result...
The figures above are from a CNN poll...it also gave the debate to Vance 51 to 49
Both VP candidates have improved their own favourability with the electorate. (+23 for Walz and +19 for Vance)
Some would argue (and have, based on the debate performance) that both would be better candidates than those occupying the 'number one' position on the respective tickets.

The thing is, the Walz we saw is probably the genuine Walz...the one we see on the campaign trail
I'm not sure the JD wasn't the 'chameleon' he needed to be just for the purposes of the debate audience.

The result...

Vance will say whatever is needed to move to the next rung on the ladder.    You can see him positioning himself to be the 'messiah' once the Trump train has left the GOP station.......
This is now the longest premiership drought in the history of the Carlton Football Club - more evidence of climate change?
