CARLTON captain Chris Judd says his players' actions will back up their commitment to improve their off-field behaviour.
In accepting responsibility for the drunken stupidity that arose from an end-of-year booze cruise, Judd pledged that the players would become better role models.
The Carlton board yesterday met Judd and his leadership group, and club officials, before increasing punishment for the three players - Ryan Houlihan, Andrew Walker and Eddie Betts - who were embroiled in highly publicised drunken incidents after the Yarra River cruise on December 19.
Having already been fined $5000 under the AFL's code of conduct, the trio have also been suspended from the club for a month and are unavailable for selection in the NAB Cup pre-season competition.
